As a third-year student, Bao’s commitment to personal and professional growth is evident through his participation in the MSA as the VP of Finance, UBCO Rock N Roll, the Accounting Club, the UBCO chess club, RBC, JDC West and the Finance Club. In these roles, Bao honed his public speaking and analytical skills which has aided him in becoming the winner of the Live Case Competition! Bao’s dedication to continuous improvement and community engagement is also reflected in his future aspirations as he aims to pursue the CPA program at Deloitte after completing his co-op experience there.

Meet the MSA President of the 2024/25 academic year, Akshat Porwal! Akshat’s journey with the Management Students Association (MSA) has been nothing short of transformative, enriching his time at UBCO and shaping his approach to business and life. Through the MSA, Akshat has not only embraced the importance of teamwork but discovered the power of stepping outside his comfort zone. Inspired by his father’s career in banking and entrepreneurship, Akshat has found his passion for the finance world. His hands-on experience through a 12-month co-op as an Administrative Assistant in Commercial Banking at RBC, followed by a summer internship as a Client Advisor, has solidified his aspirations within the banking industry.
Insha Zameer Hooda: Shaping the Future of Business, One Step at a Time
In the bustling corridors of UBCO, Insha Zameer Hooda is approaching the final stretch of her Bachelor of Management journey. Driven by a quest for knowledge and a passion for business, Insha has found a home in the Management community as the VP of Academic Affairs for the Management Student Association and as a founding member of Engineers in Action Okanagan. Extending beyond academics, Insha seized a co-op opportunity at Integris Consulting Ltd as a Project Coordinator where she applied classroom to support the delivery of large-scale transportation and infrastructure projects.

Attracted to UBCO by the positive experiences of his older brothers, Ifaz Chowdhury sought to explore the abundant opportunities and academic growth the university offered firsthand. His journey through the Management program has been marked by significant takeaways, including his active involvement as the VP of Finance for the Management Student Association and participation in the co-op program, which has led Ifaz toward a bright future in accounting.
Tate Bond’s path to success with the support of Management peers
Tate Bond, a dedicated 4th-year Bachelor of Management student, discovered his passion for business after transitioning from the Bachelor of Science program. His successful journey at UBCO was achieved by focusing on growth and development opportunities both inside and outside the classroom. Through his involvement in the Consulting Club and the hands-on co-op experience at KPMG, Tate has acquired a diverse skill set and forged meaningful connections that have shaped his path toward a career in consulting and leadership.
